Further education and cooperation were the focus of the Euregio Museum Day, which brought together managers and employees of the museums in Franzensfeste.

In order to prepare for a transnational theme year 2021, museum people from all three parts of the European Region met on Thursday, 4 October 2018 in Franzensfeste fortress. The motto of the Euregio Museum Day 2018 was "Network Museums" and, beyond the joint preparatory work, was intended to impart new specialist knowledge to museum experts from Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino and to strengthen the networks in the Europaregion.

Through networking, the added value of cooperation in the museum landscape should be emphasised and mutual support and exchange between museums should be intensified. This was also underlined by the renowned museum expert Wolfgang Jahn from the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte in Augsburg in his keynote speech on the subject of "Borderless Projects". In the course of the day, the participants in workshops on the Euregio Museum Day worked out proposals for joint projects in the context of the planned theme year 2021 in the three countries.
