International Museum Day 2018

Datum

13th of May 2018

Kurztext

With cloudy weather and over 800 visitors, the International Museum Day at the Fortress of Franzensfeste was a real success.

Langtext

In total, 13 guided tours took place between the high and lower fortress and in the bunker. In addition, a packed programme of events in the powder magazine was attended by around 500 visitors from South Tyrol and neighbouring regions, as well as guests from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Many also explored the fort on their own.
The public was mixed, many families with children, but also older students accepted the offer to visit the fortress for free during this special day and to participate in a guided tour or one of the workshops offered.
The offers in the powder keg with the musician Max Castlunger, the storyteller Leni Leitgeb and the artist Alexia Gietl were very well received, especially by the children.
Guided tours of the history and architecture of the fort and the nearby bunker from the 1930s were all booked, with a maximum of 50 people each.
Culinary delights were provided by Annelies with its barbecue stand and the Feli and Fuchs ice cream parlour on wheels.
