Theatre performance: Ziemlich beste Freunde
25th of October – 11th of November 2019
Adapted for the stage after the film of the same name by René Heinersdorff
A production by Spielgemeinschaft Vintl-Weitental, directed by Gerd Weigel
"A friend is someone who says bad things to your face instead of behind your back."
Philippe is rich, noble, has taste, collects art - only he can't move. He is paralyzed from the neck down and is looking for a new nurse. The unemployed Bacari, on the other hand, is very agile and travels a lot, often on criminal roads. He has just got out of prison and needs Philippe to refuse his job to continue collecting unemployment benefits. But Philippe finds the talkative woman from the suburbs interesting and hires her without further ado. Pinstripe meets hood, Mozart meets earth wind and fire. Bacari's unconventional way of dealing with the paralyzed man is the beginning of a crazy friendship, which gives new impetus to the wheels of the wheelchair and makes things dance.
Practically the best friends are based on a real event. It is a wonderfully brazen, cheerful, touching and life-affirming story about the power of friendship and respectful interaction. The cliché meets prejudice in a song of praise for life.
