ANALOGUE PHOTO FESTIVAL
Timeframe
14. June at 11.00 - 16.00
UNFORTUNATELY CANCELED
Working with the camera obscura is one of the most fundamental forms of photography, reduced to its essential elements: light, time, and observation. In this workshop, participants will explore the basics of analogue photography. Our camera will be the camera obscura: a simple black-painted box through whose small aperture light enters, projecting an upside-down image of the outside world onto light-sensitive material.
Using this unique photographic technique, we will explore the Franzensfeste Fortress together and capture our impressions through analogue photography. Afterwards, we will develop the resulting negatives together in the darkroom and gradually transform them into visible images.
The workshop offers a basic understanding of photography as a process shaped by light, environment, and materials. How is an image created? What does exposure mean? And how do light and shadow influence our perception?
The focus is on experimentation, conscious slowing down, and discovering the simple magic behind the creation of photographic images.
