Jazz Festival South Tyrol as a guest in the Franzensfeste
Time period
29. June at from 11 a.m.

On Sunday 29 June 2025, Franzensfeste will become the stage for the South Tyrol Jazz Festival. Within the historic walls, experimental sounds meet creative workshops – a varied programme for children, families and music lovers awaits you.
Programme:
11:00 a.m. – Jazz à Collage (utility building)
To kick off the programme, artist Greta Marcolongo invites children aged 6 and over to an imaginative craft workshop. Individual works of art will be created from colourful paper, fabrics and materials – inspired by music and improvisation. The children can create freely, explore the theme of jazz in a playful way and take their first creative steps into the world of sound.
12:30-14:00 – Lunch break
Between the programme items there will be time to take a deep breath and regain strength.
14:00 – Klangkeuken: Interactive children’s concert (powder magazine lower fortress)
The Belgian duo Lynn Cassiers (voice, electronics) and Nabou Claerhout (trombone) invite children aged 6 and over to a special kind of concert. ‘Klangkeuken’ is not a classical concert – it is a playful musical journey of discovery in which the audience itself becomes part of the action. Together with the artists, the children can create sounds, experiment with everyday objects and experience music in a completely new way.
15:30 – Purple Muscle Car (inner courtyard of the middle fortress)
The musical finale is the concert by Purple Muscle Car – a project that combines jazzy structures with rock elements, improvisation and a good dose of energy. The band stands for unconventional soundscapes, virtuoso interplay and experimental joy of playing. Perfect for anyone who is curious about new things and wants to get involved in musical surprises.
