Night tour – The Franzensfeste in the dark 2

On Saturday 26 July, an extraordinary experience awaits you at the fortress: at nightfall, we will open the gates to a special guided tour that combines history, atmosphere and sky observation.

Together with our guides, you will embark on a tour of the fortress at night. By the light of torches and candles, you climb the underground staircase to the Upper Fortress, where the dim light and silence create a special atmosphere. Along the way, you will learn fascinating facts about the history of the complex – from its beginnings to its changing use and the present day.

Once at the top, you will be treated to an impressive view of the valley at night and the illuminated Lower Fortress.

Together we look upwards: Astrophysicist and planetarium employee Sabrina Bernhard we explore the night sky. With a telescope and expert knowledge, you will discover constellations and their mythological origins. Depending on the weather, the sky observation will take place outdoors or in the mobile planetarium.
