FORT biennale_02: Curator’s Guided Tour | FORT Biennale_02 in August

We warmly invite you to join a guided tour with the curator as part of FORT biennale_02. Together with curator Hannes Egger, you will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition from the perspective of the person who conceived and developed it.

Hannes Egger will share personal insights into the conceptual framework of FORT biennale_02 and discuss the key considerations that shaped the selection and presentation of the artworks. The tour will focus on the relationships between the different artistic positions, the site itself, and the social and contemporary contexts in which the works are situated.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the exhibited artworks through reflections on their development, installation, and the curatorial decisions that contribute to the overall identity of the biennial. Dialogue remains at the heart of the event, and visitors are encouraged to ask questions and actively engage in the discussion.

Take this opportunity to experience the exhibition through a direct exchange with the curator and gain a more nuanced understanding of its themes and perspectives.

Special attention will be dedicated to the work of Museo Wunderkammer, whose artists will accompany the tour. In preparation for FORT Biennale_02, Giusi Campisi and Luca Bertoldi developed a participatory project involving residents of the Municipality of Franzensfeste/Fortezza.

Local inhabitants were invited to contribute to the creation of the artworks by inventing and reimagining names for two significant landmarks in the area: the reservoir basin along the state road and the hill formed from excavation material from the Brenner Base Tunnel. The resulting proposals became the foundation for the works presented within the biennial.

A special invitation is therefore extended to all those who took part in this naming process, as well as to residents of the Municipality of Franzensfeste/Fortezza, to join the tour and gathering and visit the artwork to whose creation they contributed.
