Kurztext

And now the world. A play by Sybille Berg.

The collective of actors Binnen-I will be a guest at the fortress of Franzensfeste in August and September with their latest production. The two performances are the crowning achievement of a tour in South Tyrol and can be visited as a support program at the Biennale Academiae with a standard ticket.

Langtext

They are intelligent, well educated and live in precarious conditions, because even the umpteenth internship does not bring money. They sell homemade drugs on the Internet, write fashion blogs and increase the market value of their body in the gym, even if they despise the market. They communicate via Skype, SMS, chat or telephone, yet it remains a feeling of overwhelming loneliness. The balance of a life until now: once high ideals, today pragmatism. Desire is something you mainly know from films, family is a bond you create yourself and the world is always lurking outside.

Without pity and at the same time with great tenderness, Sibylle Berg portrays young women who - wavering between aggressiveness and apathy, departure and serenity - do not know what to fight for and for whom even the word "we" arouses justified skepticism.
