The goal of the International Museum Day, which has been held around 18 May since 1977, is to draw attention to the thematic diversity of the numerous museums and to invite visitors of all ages to get to know their treasures and embark on a special kind of voyage of discovery.

The motto of the 2020 edition is "The Museum for All - Museums for Diversity and Inclusion".

Therefore, we are making the following two offers available to all interested parties, young and old, young and old... and look forward to welcoming you again soon in person at our museum.

As the International Museum Day is just online this year, you can get to know the Museum of the Franzensfeste fortress in advance through a game. Try to solve our newly created Quiz and learn one or the other secret of this impressive building. Have fun!

DRAW YOUR FORTRESS!

You enjoy painting and are between 3 and 14 years old?

Then take part in our painting competition! Let your imagination run wild and paint our fortress just the way you like it. Create your drawing or collage on the theme of the fortress and show your own original interpretation!
We will publish the most beautiful, most successful or most creative examples on our website and post them on our social channels!
