This year's Museum Day is being held under the ICOM motto "Museums for Education and Research". This once again emphasises the importance of museums as dynamic educational centres that stimulate curiosity, creativity and critical thinking. "Museum structures are lively places where education and research are actively pursued. They are a factor in our view of the world," is ICOM's message.
Franzensfeste Fortress offers a varied programme in line with this core message and invites interested visitors of all ages.

Experience excitement, games and fun with the Catholic youth organisation.
Enjoy the dance performance by the pupils of the Herz Jesu Institut Mühlbach in the Domino Boomerang. Immerse yourself in the art of being invisible with our workshop and hide-and-seek game for children up to the age of 12. Go on a treasure hunt for children. Explore the bunker world in Bunker No. 3 on the guided tours, experience the panoramic view in the Upper Fortress and learn more about fortress construction on the guided tours.
